When it comes to choosing the right pillow, there are three relevant sleeping postures that one needs to consider:
- Sleeping on the side - This is probably one sleeping posture that needs a great pillow the most. You need a nice and fluffy pillow that will fill the void and support your neck when you are sleeping on your side. Most pillows that we found were either too thin or too hard and making it literally a pain in the neck.
- Sleeping on Tummy - You probably do not need a pillow to sleep! At best, all that you need is a thin pillow or if you can just use your arms or a fold up bed sheet as a pillow that would still work well.
- Sleeping on your back - You need a pillow that nicely sinks in the back of your head but at the same time gives great support to your neck. The most common mistake that back sleepers commit when choosing a pillow is not choosing a pillow that is soft enough. Back sleepers needs a really plush pillow. A back sleeper can actually manage without a pillow, but a hard pillow will lead to serious neck pain.
